The Momentum of Mitel and the Power of MUG

The Momentum of Mitel and the Power of MUG
By Cas Rangel, CTO of Building Products Inc. and President of the Mitel User Group (MUG) Board of Directors
This past month, the Mitel User Group (MUG) Board of Directors came together for our once-a-year in-person meeting at Mitel’s office in Munich, Germany. While our board meets virtually every month to brainstorm, share insights, and shape how MUG can benefit our global community, there’s nothing quite like being in the same room. The energy, collaboration, and passion for Mitel solutions and our customers always remind me why MUG is so special.
Connecting with Mitel Leaders and Members
While in Munich, we also had the privilege of hosting a local MUG event for both current and prospective members. It was inspiring to see the engagement between the MUG community and Mitel’s executive leadership. Martin Bitzinger, SVP of Product Management, and Luiz Domingos, Mitel’s CTO, shared their perspectives on innovation and the future of Mitel solutions. Christian Jessel, sales leader in the region, also joined us, reinforcing the importance of strong collaboration between MUG and Mitel’s sales teams to support customers.
A highlight of the Munich gathering was the solution showcase. We not only experienced some impressive integrations that are already delivering value today, but we also got a rare, behind-the-scenes sneak peek into Mitel’s future innovations—unannounced capabilities and exciting developments that are on the horizon. It was both energizing and inspiring to see how Mitel is anticipating customer needs and preparing solutions that will shape the next chapter of communications.
The result was a dynamic exchange of ideas: MUG members providing input that helps shape Mitel’s roadmap, Mitel leaders sharing their vision, and partners contributing their expertise to ensure customers remain up to date and empowered. It’s truly a win-win-win: for customers, partners, and Mitel alike.
A Global Community, A Shared Purpose
For me personally, it’s been a whirlwind. From Munich to Chicago, where I had the opportunity to meet with Mitel’s new CEO during his second week on the job, I can say with confidence: Mitel is deeply committed to its customers. Every conversation reinforces how customer voices, through MUG, play a vital role in guiding Mitel’s future.
And that’s exactly why MUG exists: to be a customer-driven community where feedback, insights, and experiences fuel innovation and ensure solutions meet real-world needs.
Looking Ahead
As we prepare for our next global MUG Board meeting, we’re excited to continue developing a renewed portfolio of benefits for our members. Your feedback is invaluable in this process—we encourage you to share your ideas, needs, and priorities with us. You can always reach out to me directly here.
