Mitel User Group Hosts Successful Eastern Chapter Event in Baltimore

Baltimore, Maryland | June 11, 2025 — The Mitel User Group (MUG) welcomed members, partners, and Mitel leaders to the Baltimore City War Memorial on June 3 for a full day of learning, collaboration, and innovation during the North America Eastern Chapter Event.

The event brought together Mitel users from across the northeast to explore the future of communications and connect directly with Mitel’s executive team and product experts. Attendees gained insights into the latest trends shaping Unified Communications (UC), customer experience (CX), and AI-driven collaboration tools, while also enjoying live demos, strategic roadmaps, and peer-to-peer networking.

“We were thrilled to see such strong engagement from Mitel users across the region,” said Simon Etta, MUG Board Member and Director of Telecommunication Services, Department of Telecommunications, Office of Comptroller Bill Henry, who opened the event with a warm welcome and an overview of MUG’s purpose and member value.

Following Etta’s remarks, Paul Ginn, Group Director of Portfolio, Programs, and Operations at Mitel, kicked off the Mitel agenda and set the tone for an intentional day of learning. Jonathan Buckle, VP of Sales for the Americas, followed behind and delivered a keynote exploring evolving UC and CX trends. “The energy in the room was a clear reminder of how valuable these in-person conversations are. It’s our chance to listen, learn, and build stronger partnerships,” Buckle said.

A highlight of the day was a live demo session led by Sid Rice, Senior Sales Engineer, showcasing Mitel’s integrations with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, MiCollab, and more. “We were able to break down evolving technology in a practical way,” Rice noted. “It’s rewarding to see users connect the dots on how Mitel can streamline their workflows.”

Luiz Domingos, Mitel’s Chief Technology Officer, presented the company’s innovation roadmap, outlining upcoming technology priorities in hybrid cloud, mobility, and security. He gave attendees an exclusive look at the company’s strategic roadmap and discussed how Mitel’s R&D is enabling customers to future-proof their communications and collaboration environments.

Over a working lunch, attendees heard from Rick Hathaway, Principal Consultant at RLH Telecom Solutions, and Paul Ginn, who engaged in a lively fireside chat about the role of consultants in shaping modern UC strategies. The afternoon featured a deep dive into Mitel’s product portfolio, followed by interactive sessions with key technology partners ASC and Brightmetrics, showcasing how their solutions expand and enhance the Mitel ecosystem.

The day concluded with an Open Forum Q&A, led by Sid Rice, offering attendees a chance to ask honest questions, explore real-world applications, and connect directly with product engineers and peers.

“This event reflected exactly what the Mitel User Group is all about – creating space for open dialogue, learning, and building connections between the people who use Mitel solutions every day,” said Etta in closing remarks on behalf of the MUG Board of Directors.
