Get to Know Your Global Board

January Highlight:
Rickard Samuelsson
MUG Role: Director
Location: Stockholm, Sweden

Q: Where are you located? Are you a member of a local/regional MUG group? If so, which one?
I am located in Stockholm, Sweden. I'm a member of the local Swedish user group since 2008 and a Board Member of the Swedish User Association since May 2016.

Q: How long have you been on the MUG Global Board?
I am one of the founding members of the MUG Global Board.

Q: Where do you work? What Mitel applications do you use on a daily basis?
At my company, I am the IT Director. We use MiVoice MX-ONE, InAttend, MiContact Center Enterprise (Solidus eCare), MiCollab,  Voicemail, Classic DECT, MiVoice 6940 IP end-points and MiVoice 4223 Digital phones.

Q: What are your interests/hobbies?
I love to spend time with my family, play some golf and I enjoy driving my BMW Adventure bike on or off road.

Q: What are your hopes for the future for the User Group? What would you like to see?
I want to see the User Group grow and explore the true potential to bring the collective voice of all Mitel customers together. Sharing and collaborating over borders and taking an active part in providing important information to other users and to Mitel on product R&D, training opportunities, overall customer service and support.

Participation in a User Group is the first important step of any telecom professional and the second is to engage within the group. Pick one topic or several and develop yourself, that is what makes a group a success.

Q:  What excites you most about the communications technology industry?
It’s incredible to think how much the world has changed thanks to the technologies people now have in their pockets. As infrastructure has moved to data, faster networks and to the cloud, it has become much easier not only to provide basic connectivity, but also to layer on additional services. I see more opportunities for mobile-only workforces beyond the bigger businesses. How will medium and large enterprises enable secure communications between employees when everyone uses a smartphone instead of a desk phone? It's only a matter of time before we find out.

Virtual Success for MUG

We want to thank the almost 600 attendees in 60 countries that attended our inaugural Mitel User Group Virtual Event. Collectively you all downloaded and watched over 5,000 pieces of content and participated in 270 trainings. Additionally, 100 percent of our survey respondents would recommend this event to a colleague that uses Mitel, so if you weren't able to attend this time around, we hope you'll be joining us in Q2 for our next Virtual Event. Stay tuned for more details!
