What's ahead for GMUG

As your recently elected Global Mitel User Group President, I would like to thank all of you who have been active participants in your Regional User Groups over the years and more recently in the Global Mitel User Group.

This year we are planning more exciting learning and networking opportunities for you.  Just a few engagement activities in the works are the Mitel roadshows coming to a city “near you” in North America (May - Sept) that will feature Major League Baseball, the Mitel Next event (October), and another virtual event (November), and all the exciting events your regional boards are planning.

Now that the Global Mitel User Group is well on its way, it’s our goal to formally announce the different types of memberships being made available along with the cost and value proposition for each.  As we have been stating for the past few years, in order to be an independent entity, we need to charge membership fees for the higher valued features.  So, you can also expect to see some marketing items coming out in the next few months explaining the memberships in more detail.  Again, I want to thank you all for taking time out of your busy work schedules to engage with each other.  The networking and joint problem solving we can do as a group is a priceless feature of membership!  And, I hope to see you at several events throughout the year.

Finally, did you hear the news this week?  Mitel has entered into a definitive arrangement agreement to be acquired by affiliates of Searchlight Capital Partners for $2 Billion.  To learn more about this agreement, click here.

Sincerely,
Marci Payne
Global Mitel User Group President
