2025: A Year of Connection, Community, and Customer Voice

By Cas – President, Mitel User Group

As we close out another landmark year for the Mitel User Group, I’m amazed by the momentum this community continues to build. The conversations, collaboration, and collective problem-solving happening across MUG are unmatched in the industry. I recently shared on the K&Co Tech Podcast that communities like MUG complement traditional vendor relationships by creating space for shared learnings, honest dialogue, and the kind of peer validation you simply can’t get from a one-to-one support ticket.

This year, that spirit of connection—and the value it drives—was more visible than ever. Here are the moments, milestones, and collective wins that defined 2025.

Our Joined Mitel Next Roadshows
This year, MUG customer members were invited to join the Mitel Next Roadshows across major North American cities. Altogether, we invited more than 750 customer members across Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, and Dallas, ensuring that our community had direct access to the latest innovations and roadmap discussions.

While rebuilding in-person engagement takes time, we were encouraged to see customers stepping into the room at each stop, asking thoughtful questions, and making their voices heard. These roadshows strengthened MUG’s connection to Mitel, opening up communication channels and providing exclusive product updates. Customer participants received early product messaging and sneak peeks into Mitel’s product roadmap, insight that helped shape go-to-market planning and refine key features ahead of launch.

And as part of Mitel’s broader commitment to transparency and innovation, the MUG Board was also invited to join Mitel Innovation Day, where they explored emerging technologies, contributed feedback, and engaged directly with Mitel’s innovation teams.

A Community That Keeps Growing
This year, the MUG community welcomed over 650 brand-new global members, each adding new perspectives and energy to our ecosystem.

To support this growth, we launched a refreshed New Member Welcome Experience, ensuring every member starts their journey with clarity and connection. The series walks members through how to engage in forums, find events, and access learning resources.

In 2026, we’ll expand this experience into additional languages to ensure every member—regardless of region—can participate fully.

A Record Year for Webinars and Learning
Our global webinar program delivered 29 total webcasts, including German-language sessions and a dedicated UK/Ireland series. More than 4,000 registrants and 1,700 live attendees joined throughout the year, underscoring webinars as one of the most valued member benefits.

The Launch of the MUG Blog
Another milestone of 2025 was the debut of the Mitel User Group Blog, a space created to amplify the authentic voice of the Mitel customer. Each month we’ve highlighted how real organizations use Mitel—including the challenges, lessons learned, and creative solutions happening behind the scenes.

The blog has quickly become one of our most powerful platforms for community storytelling.

Bringing People Together: Five In-Person Events Across the Globe
In addition to digital connection, we gathered with members face-to-face across North America and Europe—each event offering a unique look into customer needs, product innovation, and the future of the Mitel ecosystem.

Across Toronto, Baltimore, Omaha, Munich, and Turin, MUG members connected directly with Mitel’s senior leaders and product experts, offering a level of access that is rare in the UC industry and deeply appreciated by our community. Just to provide a few examples, Baltimore, attendees heard strategic updates from Jonathan Buckle and an innovation roadmap from CTO Luiz Domingos, outlining priorities in hybrid cloud, mobility, and security. Omaha featured deep-dive sessions led by Dan Nemechek, Eric Knudson, and Derek Curry on AI, customer experience, and hybrid UC integrations—an event so impactful that 100% of surveyed participants said they would attend again. In Munich, Domingos reaffirmed Mitel’s commitment to customer-driven innovation, noting that exchanges with the MUG community “fuel the next wave of breakthroughs.” And in Toronto, Executive Vice President of Engineering & Operations Al Hurren guided members through a rapidly evolving UC landscape and the innovations shaping Mitel’s future.

Collectively, these events showcased Mitel’s ongoing commitment to listening, learning, and collaborating with its customers—and demonstrated how deeply embedded MUG is in shaping the technology direction ahead.

Looking Ahead to 2026
As we move into a new year, I’m energized by where we’re headed. We’ve strengthened our foundation, expanded our reach, and amplified the customer voice in powerful new ways—and we’re just getting started.

In 2026, expect a deeper focus on global engagement, more regional in-person events, expanded blog storytelling, and new ways for customers to lead and shape the future of the community.

Thank you for being the heart of MUG. Your passion, curiosity, and collaboration fuel everything we do.

Here’s to another year of connection, innovation, and customer-powered momentum.
