Another Milestone for MUG: Omaha 2026 Delivers Big

What a thrill to welcome the Mitel User Group community back to Omaha for our second MUG regional event! After last year’s inaugural success, expectations were high—but thanks to our incredible attendees, DMSI’s and Scooter’s Coffee for their hospitality, and the deep engagement from the Mitel team, Omaha 2026 exceeded every one of them.

Omaha is my hometown, and bringing the MUG community here again is a genuine honor. What continues to inspire me most is how these events bring together customers, partners, analysts, Mitel executives, and subject matter experts—not just to listen, but to actively participate, challenge assumptions, collaborate, and help shape the future of Mitel solutions.

What Made Omaha 2026 Stand Out

Strategic Vision from the Top

The day kicked off strong with a compelling keynote from Luiz Domingos, CTO of Mitel, who laid out Mitel’s go‑forward mission—anchored in innovation, AI, and practical outcomes for customers navigating increasingly hybrid environments.

That momentum continued with a deep‑dive roadmap session led by Dan Nemechek, outlining how Mitel is evolving its portfolio to support flexibility, customer choice, and long‑term platform sustainability.

Influencer‑Led Dialogue: Where Strategy Met Reality

One of the most talked‑about segments of the day was our working lunch and live Q&A, expertly moderated by Shelly Kramer, analyst and technology influencer at Kramer & Associates.

Shelly brought an outside‑in perspective that elevated the conversation. Rather than a standard executive Q&A, the session became a candid, fast‑moving dialogue that connected Mitel’s strategy directly to broader market forces—AI adoption, customer experience expectations, and the realities enterprises are facing in 2026.

Her ability to bridge technical depth with business context helped surface sharper questions from the audience and drove a more transparent discussion with Luiz Domingos and Dan Nemechek. The result was a session that felt less like a presentation—and more like a collaborative working session.

Hands‑On Innovation: Show & Tell

Our expanded Show & Tell sessions gave attendees the opportunity to explore what’s new at Mitel—including WX, Workflow Studio, and Mitel CX—with guidance from Mitel engineers who know the technology inside and out.

These sessions continue to be a MUG favorite because they allow users to:

  • Compare deployment approaches
  • Test features firsthand
  • Talk openly about what’s working—and what they want next

Deep Technical Training & Integrations

The afternoon training block focused on integrations, featuring live demonstrations and real‑world use cases from:

  • Microsoft Teams
  • Zoom
  • Revolution
  • Industry‑specific solutions from the Mitel Technology Network

This practical emphasis—how things actually work together—remains one of the strongest differentiators of MUG events.

Unfiltered Q&A and Peer Exchange

Our open forum once again proved that MUG’s greatest strength is its community. Attendees asked tough, highly specific questions—and walked away with equally specific, actionable answers from subject matter experts and peers alike.

Networking, Games & Good Times

We wrapped up the day with casual networking and dinner at Prehistoric Putt Omaha, keeping the spirit relaxed and the conversations flowing. Omaha once again delivered the perfect mix of business, connection, and fun.

What the 2026 Feedback Survey Shows

100% of respondents said they would attend another MUG event in the future, signaling strong overall value and engagement.

Most Valuable Aspects of the Event – Customers found the greatest value in:

  • Learning about upcoming Mitel products and roadmap direction
  • Product overviews and new product demonstrations
  • Hands-on experiences with equipment and solutions
  • Direct interaction with experts, especially through experience stations
  • Networking and understanding the breadth of what Mitel delivers

“Every year, I make it a priority to attend the MUG event. Each time, I am reminded of Mitel information and options that I may have set aside over the year, while also gaining new insights that I can immediately apply.”

“Meeting with Mitel’s executives and technical engineers consistently reinforces the company’s enthusiasm and commitment to ongoing research, development, and delivery of the technical momentum behind its products. I have invested in Mitel for many years, building technical knowledge that I apply daily, and Mitel’s continued investment in its products makes that expertise even more valuable.”

“I found every aspect of the day extremely informative and appreciated the insights I can now apply to our business model and industry vertical needs. I am always particularly eager to hear about the roadmap and the additional perspectives shared during the event.”

Why These Events Matter More Than Ever

Luiz Domingos, CTO, Mitel

“Omaha 2026 truly showcased the strength of our user community. Seeing representation from all over the country—and the level of engagement in every session—reinforces why events like this are essential. The collaboration happening here drives real outcomes for customers.”

At MUG Omaha, the conversation centered on the people who keep organizations running every day. As Dan Nemecheck shared, If you show up to work every day in comfortable shoes—steel‑toed boots, Crocs, sneakers—there’s a good chance you’re already a Mitel customer. We build solutions for the people who face patients, guests, customers, and job sites every single day. That’s who Mitel is really built for.”

A sincere thank you to DMSI and Scooter’s for their outstanding Omaha hospitality in welcoming us into their headquarters. From the venue to the warm reception—and, of course, the delicious coffee—they helped set the tone for an exceptional MUG Omaha experience.

Most importantly, thank you to every attendee who invested the time to come to Omaha, share your experiences, ask hard questions, and help strengthen this community.

We’re already planning the next MUG event—stay tuned, stay engaged, and let’s keep building this extraordinary community together.
